CATHOLIC YOUTH SOCCER LEAGUE GUIDELINES
1. RAIN POLICY
Coaches and Referees should check the website www.cysl.net for information concerning cancellations. If weather conditions are questionable and the website does NOT have specific cancellations for that field, teams shall report to the field and the referee will be the final judge of field conditions. Field cancellations should be reported to cysl_soccer@yahoo.com by 3 pm. The CYSL weather announcement will be made available by 3:30pm on weekdays, 7:30am on Saturdays, and 12pm on Sunday at www.cysl.net. The information will also be made available at 402.216-0115.
2. TORDADO POLICY
If the area is in a Tornado Warning, as sounded by the area sirens, then the game(s) are canceled. If the area is in a Tornado Watch, then the game(s) will be played as scheduled or as directed by paragraph 1
3. CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation for weather related reasons will follow paragraph 1. Any other cancelled games should be reported by the referee immediately to cysl_soccer@yahoo.com
4. GAME CARDS
The Home coach is responsible for filing out ALL information on the game card with the exception of the visiting team's information. So as to not create any delays, have this information completed before going to the field. Further, the home coach should contact the visiting coach upon arriving at the field and collect the visiting team's information and give the COMPLETED game card to the referee before game time.
5. TEAM RESPONSIBILITES
All teams are responsible for providing a linesman to the referee prior to the start of the game.
Home teams are responsible for providing the game ball.
All U12 and U14 teams are responsible to bring a net and 3 flags to the game
If the referee does not show, each team is to provide their own referee and play the game as scheduled
6. PLAYER PASSES
ALL PLAYERS AND COACHES MUST HAVE A PLAYER PASS !!! Players and coaches must have player passes as furnished by NSSA and will be checked prior to game time. All player passes must be laminated and have pictures.
7. SPECTATOR, COACH, AND TEAM LOCATIONS
Both teams shall occupy the north or west side of the field. Spectators will take the opposite side and sit in the bleachers and will NOT we allowed to stand on the field sidelines. EXCEPTIONS - at SJEA all persons must be on the North side of the field and at St Robert's all spectators will take the East side of the field
U8 Fields - No spectators are allowed between the two fields on a split field
Tranquility Fields - All players and coaches are to occupy the first row of bleachers on game side of field. All spectators must be seated in the bleachers.
Coaches are restricted to maintain a 10 yard buffer between their teams' side of the field and the midline.
8. LENGTH OF GAMES, BALL SIZES, AND CORNER KICKS
U8 - Four 10 minute quarters with a one minute break between the first and second quarter and third and fourth quarter. There shall be a drop ball at the center of the field to start the second and forth quarters. There shall be a 5 minute half time between the second and third quarters with a change of field. The ball size shall be a #3. Comer kicks come from the comer flag.
U10 - Play two 25 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime. A change of field should take place at halftime. The ball size shall be a #4 ball. Comer kicks come from the short comer.
U12 - Play two 30 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime. A change of field should take place at halftime. The ball size shall be a #4 ball. Comer kicks come from the long comer
U14 - Play two 35 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime. A change of field should take place at halftime. The ball size shall be a #5 ball. Comer kicks come from the long comer.
9. U8 SPECIAL RULES
A. Small field with 5 players
B. No player may play goal for more then two quarters
C. All players must play one quarter each half
D. Opponents must be four yards from the ball before stationary kick (ex. Penalty or kick-off kick)
E. Goal kicks are taken 6 yards in front of the side of the goal
F. Offside will NOT be called
G. All kicks are INDIRECT
H. All other rules of FIFA remain the same
If not noted otherwise FIFA rules remain in effect.
11. DISCIPLINE
Coaches are responsible for the control of the sidelines and may be dismissed by the referee for unsportsmanlike conduct. The game may be stopped at this point. Further harassment will cause termination of the game and forfeit by the offending team.
12. COMPLETION OF THE GAME
The game is official once the first half ends. If the game is stopped for other than weather related reasons the outcome of the' game will be determined by the CYSL
Referees will email in game scores for U10, U12, and U14 games. Coaches may email or send in game cards.
