1. Many clubs had already left after collecting their schedules for the Fall 2010 season, therefore attendance wasn’t taken in the normal manner. I believe that most clubs were there at one point or another as all club packets were gone by the end of the night.
2. Items to discuss at our next meeting:
a. Having a 7 vs. 7 division to accommodate the clubs without enough players to field a U14 team playing traditional 11 vs. 11.
b. Discussion of 3-man officiating crews for the spring season.
c. Looking ahead to the Annual General Meeting (
3. You’re tired of hearing it from me; I’m tired of hearing it from NSSA. With that behind us;
a. If you don’t have a pass for a player, then contact your club registrar to obtain one.
b. If your registrar cannot provide a pass for that player, they aren’t allowed to participate.
c. Put pictures on your player’s passes.
d. Have your players sign their passes.
e. Laminate your players’ passes, or at least wrap them in packing tape, your choice.
4. The coach of the home team is supposed to have the game card ready for the referee before the game starts. Please do so even if you submit your game report on the website. This is your opportunity to let us know the condition of the field as well as rating the performance of the referee
5. Schedules have been posted on the website.
6. Remember that U7, U8, and U7/8 games are refereed by coaches / parents. A referee will not be provided by the CYSL. In addition, an official score should not be kept nor are they to be submitted to the CYSL. The team really knows how they performed; we are trying to encourage effort, touches, and improvement at this age. (Excellence comes from personal growth and doing your best.)
7. St. Gerald’s has organized a coach’s clinic to be presented on
8. We really need a secretary that isn’t so biased and self-serving. You are already coming to the meeting, consider volunteering to accurately record history in the making.
Respectfully submitted,
Tim Burns
